Attaching Documents To Clients And Carers

Attaching Policies & Procedures

You can attach documents in a number of locations within carefree:

  • Under the ‘attachments’ tab in both the carer or client screens.
  • Direct to the ‘contact log’ in both the carer and client screens.

A main benefit of doing this it you can reduce the amount of paper stored in filing cabinets by attaching direct to CareFree.

Documents can be attached to CareFree provided they are stored in one of the following formats:

  • Word (*.doc)
  • Adobe (*.pdf)
  • Excel (*.xls)
  • Text (*.txt)
  • Image (*.jpg, *.bmp, *.png)

Top tip: Attach policies and procedures to the contact log in the event of a complaint. This will increase the chances of the correct procedure being followed and also provide evidence in the event of the complaint escalating

Attaching a document to a client/carer’s details screen

  1. Open the client/carer screen
  2. Select the ‘attachments’ tab
  3. Click ‘edit’
  4. Click the
  5. Locate the file you want to attach (you will be browsing your system/networks/local/shared drives)
  6. Press ‘open’
  7. Rename the file(if required) and press ‘ok’
  8. The file will now show in the attachments field.

Setting up folders to allow the attaching of documents

  1. Select ‘items’

Once you have done this you would then;

  1. Select the ‘Personnel’ icon (from the top of the main screen)
  2. Select ‘Documents and policies’
  3. You will now have your document types showing
  4. Click the green plus icon.
